It’s Time To Start Stopping!
If the red light on your dashboard is flashing, it’s about time you stopped ignoring it! Oh, I know that you could cut the wire that connects it to the battery [as you have done many times before] so that it won’t annoy you, but, sooner or later, your motor’s gonna stop! ... that will leave your loved ones without a vehicle. Think about that...
If you don’t rest, you become restless! This world has become sick with exhaustion and restlessness. Please don’t become part of that problem. While it is true that prudent periods of weariness help strengthen the spirit, the prolonged, ongoing state of fatigue to which this generation is rapidly adapting, is ultimately soul destroying and it is slowly grinding our values to a halt. Deep-core fatigue is not a place where love can take root!
Tiredness is an important and instructive feeling. It is a strong aspect of our consciousness and must be heeded if we are to survive. As for all other animals and plants, we need to rest when we experience the feeling of tiredness ... that’s only sensible!
These days, it seems, tiredness has become a matter for shame! It’s become one of our most suppressed feelings. Look around you - you will see many people overcoming their exhaustion and ‘pushing on’, with intensity - they’re creating a type of mania that breeds a culture that is ugly, meaningless and graceless! They are actually being congratulated for overcoming it and that seems to be the recognition they are craving. They are pushing fatigue and exhaustion deep doun into their souls and they consider it a virtue to do so.
Because this ‘attitude’ is so endemic, when you gain the courage to take the stance, to “smell the roses”, you can expect to be challenged! As in every aspect of life, when you take steps to break out of the ‘norm’, you will be faced with three extra onslaughts. Be prepared for them...
A. You will experience ‘false guilt’ - By saying “no” to the people you’ve always said “yes” to, you’ll feel a twinge of guilt. Please ignore it ... it’s false guilt! It’s based on incorrect thinking and distorted values. Pleasing other people at the expense of your health is ridiculous!
B. You will experience hostility and misunderstanding - Many people will not understand your slower pace, especially those who are still on the sinking boat you just stepped out of. Stick to your guns! In the fullness of time, those who matter most will see the wisdom of what you are doing and, who knows, they may even follow you!
C. You will encounter some painful personal insights - By not filling every spare moment with activity, you’ll begin to see the real you ... and that may be quite gruesome! It may not be what you expected. Busy-ness can be a great place for us to hide! Use the opportunity ... if you stay with it, you’ll turn the corner and will be well on the way to a healthier, happier, freer and more fulfilling life.
Imagine if everyone around you did the same! No matter if they do or don’t, you will be working towards fulfilling your destiny through better balance and better health.
That is your responsibility!
... a balanced, healthy, happy you will be far more productive , loving and loveable than a conforming, tired dull you!
If only for the sake of your loved ones ...
If only for the sake of those who admire you (even if you don’t know who they are) ...
If only for the sake of the poor other souls who are still in the ‘rat race’ ...
If only for the sake of humanity ...
Please slow down and rest!
